antique needles

Those are antique needles that come with cute packages. I really like those packages.
I got them from my father in law's girlfriend. ( Actually, she is almost like my mother in low though) She always keeps something I may use for sewing, so I appreciate her kindness.
I definitely will keep them in good condition for my antique collection.

PAUL & JOE SISTER

I've been thinking about style of 2008 for fall /winter these days. I finally found many of cool style in PAUL & JOE SISTER. I really like those styling because they have little bit of trend line in basic items. I love basic items such as turtle neck sweater, V-neck sweater, and jeans because I feel very comfortable wearing them. If someone who has similar taste of mine, check out their style.

tote bag

I was invited my friend's baby, Ayane's birthday party last Sunday. I decided to make a little tote bag for her. My image color of her characteristics is orange, so I chose to use orange polka dot fabric for out side. For lining, I used flower print fabric that matches with orange polka dot. For more fun details, I hand-stitched a covered button has a flower print and pink ric-rak tape.
Also, I hand-stitched her name with pink embroidery threads.

My little one's shirts

I made it for my little guy. The fabric I used for it was very inexpensive ($2 per yard!!) at local Joann fabrics. I felt very lucky to find it there because the quality wasn't bad at all. Also, I had some buttons to match with the fabric because I got them for free from my father in law's girlfriend for a while ago. She kept some sewing stuff for me when she found those her mother's house. She also gave me antique sewing needles, embroidery patterns, and more!
I will introduce them later in this blog!

As some of you might notice in my Esty shop, I've been closing it for a while because I've chosen to concentrate to be a good mother for my 1 year old son. However, I will try to continue to update this blog as my sewing note, so if you are interested, please check back sometimes:)
I definitely will reopen my shop in the future though;)

Thank you!

handmade silk fabric scrunchie

I cut a used silk shirts to make it. It was little bit hard to sew on silk fabric because it's slippery. My mother in low gave me the shirts and I've been keeping it for few years. I finally decided to make a scrunchie. I really like the pattern of the fabric.

long time no see!

I haven't written this blog since beginning of this month. I've been busy to take care of my son.
He crows and stands up now, but not walking yet though. I have to keep my eye for something bad happening such as eating magazines and cables etc...
Even so, I sometimes do sewing. Of course! I have to finish up making bench cushions for my relatives.
I will post new picture after the project is finished;)

camisole for baby girl

I made the camisole for my friend's baby girl because I'm invited for her 1st birthday party this coming Sunday. It has ruffle on the front neck area to add cuteness and I used a bias tape on the hem so that you can see little bit of pink flower print. I hope she likes it...

mini Eco bag

I made an Eco bag that shapes just like a plastic bag at a store. It looks so lovely. I used thin cotton fabric and pink gingham bias tape to make it. So, it holds so compact and perfect to carry in my small handbags:)

long sleeve shirts for my boy

I made the shirts for my son. I wanted to make something simple, but unique. So, I used striped cotton with a cover button in the front and a blue patch on the both sides. I think they work well for the design. We're invited a birthday party this weekend, so my boy is ready for it;)

finished!

I've finished making a gather skirt yesterday! I love the print that looks kind of like leopard. I was thinking to attach ric rak tape on the edge, but it would be too much, so I didn't do it.
It will be on sale by next month because I will be out of US tomorrow and have vacation in Japan for two weeks.

gather skirt

I'm working on new items, gather skirt for a little girl, recently. It's simple design, but the fabric print is modern & funky. I imagine that it's cute if a little girl puts the skirt on with simple tops. I will put pictures on this blog when I finish making it.

my essential tools

When I cut fabrics, I love using those guys because I don't have to use pins any more. My teacher at college recommended to use them for students, and she bought bunch of them for us to use at a class room. I was very surprised when she showed us how to cut fabrics with them because I'd thought I had to use pins to cut fabrics all the time. Needless to say, after that I went to Home Depot to purchase bunch of them for my sewing at home. Of course, I still use pins for slippery fabrics such as lining fabrics though.

turtleneck shirts

I've just finished sewing a turtleneck shirts for myself. I wanted to have some unique details in it, so I made gather at neck line, bell sleeves and long length for the body. This material is also used for my son's hat and leggings. These days, I love to sew knit fabric because it's comfy to wear. I'm working on baby hats and leggings to make more by end of February, please check back to my shop.

seat cover

I made a seat cover for a new stroller. Because I want to reduce my fabric stock, I didn't go fabric shopping for it. I made an original quilted fabric using two kind of denim fabrics for right side and cotton fabric for wrong side. Actually, it can be reversible though:) I also made a blue bias tape. I had a hard time to sew a bias tape for holes for seat belts, but I made it!! I'm very satisfied with my work.

case for baby wipes

I made a case for baby wipes using quilted fabric from Japan. Actually, I used wrong side out making it because I like the pink stitch in the navy fabric. I was using a bulkey case to carry wipes, but I finally don't have to do it.

custom made skirt

I made a custom made skirt that has polka dots at random. It's easy to find ordinary polka dots', but this one has random dots that is unique. I was really lucky to find it at Peapod fabrics because it could be sold out soon. (They had bit of stock, 1 yard and 1/4".)So, I could get exactly I needed for the skirt!

Anyways, I got great compliments form a girl who ordered it. I was so happy and such a relief to hear that:)

hat for baby boys

I've added few baby boy's hats in my shop, so please check them out!
Those are made out of cotton knits. I attached a denim "moon" applique by hand.

Babies who scratch their forehead like my son does might need to have this hat because it protects baby's head nicely.

My son is the model for the hat;)
